Your HomePod as a Hub

If you own an Apple HomePod, that device will automatically set itself up as a home hub. If it does not, make sure that you set up your HomePod with the same Apple ID that you use to set up your accessories in the Home app.

Your Apple TV as a Hub

Just like HomePod, your Apple TV also automatically sets itself up as a home hub whenever you sign in to iCloud using the same Apple ID.

To check if your Apple TV is connected as a home hub, follow these steps.

Step 1:

Firstly, Open Settings on your Apple TV.

Step 2:

Choose AirPlay and HomeKit.

Step 3:

Under Home Hub, next to the name of your home, you should view Connected. If it displays Disabled, tap to connect.

Your iPad as a Hub

Maybe you should like to use your iPad as a home hub. However, this device, beside HomePod and Apple TV, will not set itself up automatically. But you can also do it in a few clicks.

Step 1:

Firstly, Open Settings on your iPad.

Step 2:

Choose Home.

Step 3:

Now turn on the toggle for Use this iPad as a Home Hub.

Check the Statuses of Your Hubs

You can also check to ensures that your hubs are attached to any of your devices. But if you’ve more than one home hub set up, the primary one will display as Connected with the others in Standby. However, if the primary hub becomes disconnected, a standby hub will take over.

Check Your Hubs on Mac

Follow the steps carefully to check your Hub in Mac:

Step 1:

Firstly, Open the Home app.

Step 2:

Tap Edit > Edit Home.

Step 3:

Choose Hubs & Bridges.
