Capture a Live Photo in FaceTime: Using Apple’s FaceTime, you can capture Live Photos during ‌FaceTime‌ video calls. It also allows you to capture special moments as they happen onscreen when chatting with loved ones.

‌Live Photos‌ record what happens 1.5 seconds before and after you capture a picture. It also enables them to come alive after viewing them in Apple’s Photos app.

Apple provides you to control over whether ‌Live Photos‌ can be capture during your ‌FaceTime‌ calls. The service also alerts users when a Live Photo is taken. As they can’t be shot in secret. Also, ‌FaceTime‌ also strips out audio from ‌Live images, so nothing you say will be recorded.

How to Enable Live Photos‌ to Be Capture in a ‌FaceTime‌ Call

If you want other people to capture ‌FaceTime‌ ‌Live Photos‌ when you’re on a call with them, remember you have ‌FaceTime‌ ‌Live Photos‌ turned on.

On the iOS device, launch the Settings app, tap ‌FaceTime‌, and check that the ‌FaceTime‌ ‌Live Photos‌ switch is toggled to the green ON position.

On Mac, simply launch the ‌FaceTime‌ app, tap the ‌FaceTime‌ menu bar located in the top-left corner of the screen. Also, tap Preferences, then mark the box located next to Enable Live Photos‌ to be taken during Video calls.

How to Capture Live Photos‌ in ‌FaceTime‌ on iPhone and iPad

Follow the steps to capture live photos in FacrTime on iPhone and iPad:

Step 1:

Firstly, launch the ‌FaceTime‌ app on your iOS device.

Step 2:

Begins a ‌FaceTime‌ call, either by clicking on a contact in the recent calls list. Also, selecting a person in your Contacts to call by clicking the plus (+) icon.

Step 3:

When the call connects and you can view the other person. Also, click the screen and view the camera icon, to the left of the red button. If you don’t view the icon, the other person wants to allow Live Photos‌, as explained above.

Step 4:

Click the camera icon when you’re ready to capture a Live Photo. The photo will be automatically stored in your Photo Library.

How to Capture Live Photos‌ in ‌FaceTime‌ on Mac

Follow the steps carefully to capture live photos in FaceTime on Mac:

Step 1:

Initially, install the ‌FaceTime‌ app on your Mac, from your Dock or the Applications folder.

Step 2:

Begins a ‌FaceTime‌ call by tapping on a contact in the recent calls list. Input a contact’s name in the search bar and tapping a match, or selecting a person in your contacts list to call by tapping the Plus icon.

Step 3:

When the call connects and you can view the other person. Simply look for the camera icon, to the left side of the red button. If you don’t view the icon, the other person wants to turn on Live Photos‌, as mentioned above.

Step 4:

Tap the camera icon when you’re ready to capture a Live Photo. The photo will be automatically stored in your Photo Library.

While capturing a Live Photo during a ‌FaceTime‌ video call, don’t fret about your own image in the screen corner. This is automatically deleted from the Live Photo that’s stored in your ‌Photos‌ Library, along with any other interface elements.
