Set Up Conversation Mode In Translate App – iOS 14

Are you wondering to use conversation mode in the translate app? In iOS 14, Apple launched a new Translate app that’s is built to provide real-time translations for 11 different languages. It can translate from and to Arabic, English (US and UK), mainland Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish.

The Translate app has an easy-to-use interface that enables you to choose languages to translate to and from. You can then type the text that you like to be translated. Or else you can say what you like to translate when the app listens. The app can also speak translations out loud so that you can also get the proper abbreviation or play the translation to someone who speaks a various language.

Also, the app has a clear Conversation Mode that listens to both languages and can translate them in real-time. Come let’s check how to use Conversation Mode on an iPhone.

Step 1:

Head over to the Translate app on your ‌iPhone‌ or iPad.

Step 2:

Click the top-left button and choose the language of the text that you like to translate.

Step 3:

Move down under the languages list and ensures the Automatic Detection option is toggled to the green ON position.

Step 4:

Tap Done located in the upper-right corner of the screen.

Step 5:

Click the top-right button and choose the language that you like the text translated into.

Step 6:

Click Done.

Step 7:

Now change your ‌iPhone‌ sideways into landscape orientation. If the interface can’t switch automatically to Conversation Mode. Then check Control Center to ensures that you don’t have Orientation Lock enabled.

Step 8:

After having a conversation with someone, don’t forget to click the microphone button when each person talks and the ‌‌iPhone‌‌ will automatically the conversation for each person in their language. You can also click the play button to hear the translation in the exact pronunciation.

Step 9:

Click the Expand icon to enter the Attention Mode, and the last translation will take up the entirety of the ‌iPhone‌’s display screen for easier reading.

Tip: In case, if the Automatic Detection can’t work well. Then it must be helpful to turn off it and to speak after clicking between the two microphones under the app that displays up when Automatic Detection is off. This way, you can ensure the ‌‌iPhone‌‌ is listening for and translating the accurate language.
