Create Custom Voice Control Command

Custom Voice Control Command: The Voice Control feature on macOS provides you a great way to move your Mac with nothing but your voice. However, you can open menus, use dictation in apps, and then adjust your settings.

Our best part of Voice Control is that you can create custom commands and vocabulary. This is quite handy for having your Mac respond to words and phrases that are most comfortable to you.

Here’s how to create custom Voice Control commands on your Mac.

Customize your Voice Control commands

How to get started? To get started, just say “Open Voice Control Preferences” and then navigate to Apple icon > System Preferences > Accessibility > Voice Control.

Also, Say “Click Commands” or use the Commands button.

Here you’ll view a complete list of existing Voice Control commands. However, just mark or unmark those you want to use and choose one to see extra phrases you can use for it.

Say “Click Add” or use the plus sign button to add your own command. Also, complete each of the three choices.

  • When I say: Input the word or phrase to prompt the action.
  • While using: Choose Any Application or select a particular one from the list.
  • Perform: Select the action you want to take place.

When you finish, say “Click Done” or use the Done button to give your command a try. All your custom commands will seems at the top of the Command list.

Customize your Voice Control vocabulary

You can also create your own vocabulary for dictation while using Voice Control on Mac. Also, move to the same Voice Control Preferences area as above. Just say “Click vocabulary” or use the Vocabulary button.

Say “Click Add” or use the plus sign button to add word or phrase the way you like it input when you speak it.

Furthermore, Say “Click Save” or use the Save button also do that once more on the small screen using your vocabulary list.
